Our Story
Our story starts in the fall and winter of 2017. Roan was a senior and Ally was a junior at Mooresville High School. We had both been in the same math class all fall semester, but had never spoken. We had both noticed each other at iHop one weekend, Roan eating out with his family and Ally with her sister Paris, but neither of us thought much of it. In November, Ally was taking yearbook pictures at the ROTC blood drive and turns out Roan was manning the check-in table! Roan said, "You should donate your blood." Ally replied, "I would like to but I don't weigh enough." We consider this our very brief and very cute first interaction.Shortly after this, Ally noticed the same boy from the blood drive slowly moving his seat across the math classroom. He would doodle in a notebook and play tetris on his laptop, basically anything but math. Eventually, he was sitting in the seat next to her. One day Roan offered to drive Ally home and asked for her number. For two days, Ally languished why this boy wasn't texting her after asking for her number, until she spoke with him again in their next math class. Roan confessed he lost her number within moments after asking for it.
That day, Roan drove Ally home and asked her on a date as he was dropping her off. Just a few days later, we went on that date (sushi!) and have been together ever since :)
Almost 9 years on, we have moved in together, graduated from Appalachian State University, started our careers paths while currently living in Blowing Rock, NC, and have built a loving family with our 3 cats (Meow, Mister, and Maeby). We are so excited for what the rest of our life together has in store!
